My Story

Hi folks

Thankyou for taking the time to read my fundraising page. My name is Sara and like many others I am an unpaid carer. This year I have gained a place in the Virtual TCS London Marathon 2022. Please could you support me in raising money and awareness for an excellent, well deserving charity, who have given me the chance to run on their behalf.  The charity is Carer Support West Cumbria

For over 25 years this charity has helped and supported adult and young carers including myself. Making sure that they receive the support in a variety of different ways.

My journey started nearly 10 years ago, Carer Support West Cumbria have given me help and support with my late dad, my mum, my 2 daughters. The help and support has come in a variety of ways. Access to adult social care, to form filling to meeting up for learning, understanding and a chat, to having my Carer Support West Cumbria lady listen to me ranting off and unloading to her down the phone. But to me the one thing that she has taught and has helped in making sure I have time to remember me Sara, not Sara the carer. I am sure, like me, many other carers will appreciate all the things Carer Support West Cumbria do. Doing the Virtual TCS London Marathon 2022, is me giving a little back for everything that has been for me, and all other adult and young carers.
