My Story

Yup, I'm at it again. I am running the Virtual London Marathon (Virtual just means I can do it on the East Lancs 🤣) on Sunday 2nd Oct 2022 for Lansbury Make It Happen, the registered charity for Lansbury Bridge School (Amelia's very special school)

I have been questioning my decision to go again. Last time I did couch to marathon in 7 months. I've not ran since . I have put off and put off and putt off starting training which means I've got 3 months to do couch to marathon this time. I was very close to backing out. Then some stars aligned which meant I just had to go for it. I got an email in my inbox saying there were 100 days left and at the same time I got a school sports day video.....a compilation of Amelia's class (P4) during sports week. These children work so very very hard for what we all take for granted....to just to walk.... so I had to lace my trainers back up and go again. Run (mostly walk) 26.2 miles for those who need it most. I am lucky enough to have legs that work and even luckier to have a brain that can tell my legs how to work....I just have to use them.

Lansbury is a large special needs school for children aged 3-16 years of age. Many children attend Lansbury for most of their childhood. Lansbury Make It Happen (LMIH) support the school by raising funds to help provide an enriching environment for pupils to learn in and enjoy. LMIH help to improve and develop resources to support the amazing young people who go there.

Please please donate whatever you can for these very wonderful children and all adults who work so very hard every day to support,  educate,  teach life skills and keep them happy and safe.
